FreeSpace Bingo Documentation

There are two items to setup before you begin. They are accessed from the setup menu at the top left of the screen.

Maintain Title: This title can be anything you want. It will appear at the top of the screen during play. It is usually used to indicate the sponsor of the bingo For example “VFW Post 12345”

Maintain Games: This is where you will setup the name and/or description of each game. For example “Regular Bingo or 4 Corners” or “Cover All”. Some examples are already entered.

Sometimes you may want to display a reminder to yourself for a particular game. For example “Do not call any “N” when playing the letter “X”. These reminders need to be entered after the title separated by the pipe character “|”. The pipe character is a vertical bar on the keyboard. For example

(3) Letter X | Double -click the N row to turn off N's

“(3) Letter X” is the game description and “Double-click the N row to turn off N's” is your reminder. As you progress through the games, the next game will default for you.

That's it for the setup. The rest of the selections are:

“Select Game”. This is where you can manually select a game to play. Normally there is no need to do this. This screen pops up automatically at the start of every new game. If you are using the shareware version, the nag screen will appear for 10 seconds after selecting a game.

Calc Payouts: This function is informational only and may not apply to your situation. It calculates the payout based on a percentage.

For example. Say you play nine regular games and you collected $400. You want to pay 75 percent of the total for the regular games and the balance for the jackpot. This function will take 75 percent of $400 ($300) then divide $300 by 9 ($33). Each game will pay $33 with the balance ($103) going to the jackpot.

There are two adjustments for flexibility.
The first on is “Game Pay Override”. Let's say you don't want to deal with one dollar bills. You can change the per game payout here to maybe $30 instead of $33. Click the “Calc” button. And the jackpot will be adjusted to $130.

The other adjustment is “Jackpot Adjustment”. Here you can enter a positive or negative number. Sometimes you collect cash after the games start. An entry here will adjust the jackpot payout up or down accordingly.

Recover Last Game: This can be a life save. If for any reason there is a problem such as a power failure, this function will restore the last session to where you left off. Just double-click the game title to enable the “Recover Last Game” button.

Timer: Defaults to 10 minutes. It can be used to display time remaining before bingo starts or time before a break ends.

About: Displays the application version and allows for the purchase of the standard version and a place to enter the product key.

On Screen Options:

There are three more options on the bottom right of the main screen (see image above). These settings will persist until changed.

Number of seconds between auto calls: If auto call is enabled, this controls the timing between calls.

A common setting would be about 11 seconds.

Voice On: Allows you to toggle between computer voice and manual.

Auto Call: Will use the “Number of seconds between auto calls” before the next call.

Disable Letter: Any letter can be disabled by double-clicking the letter. For example to exclude the letter “N” when playing the game X, double-click “N” to toggle it off. Double-click it again to re-enable.

There are three predetermined sound affects just for fun.
